SADIO MANE has NEVER played PlayStation or attended a party on his own.
26-year-old has not had it easy on his way to the top, which has taken his from Metz to Red Bull Salzburg to Southampton and now Liverpool.
Born in Sedhiou, a town in Senegal, Mane had a happy childhood despite his family’s lack of money.
He joined Dakar’s Generation Foot academy in the capital of Senegal but had to overcome a lack of support from his doubtful parents.
"My parents didn't understand why I wanted to play football," he said. “They encouraged him to leave the club, but he didn’t.”
Metz came calling for Mane in 2011, bringing him to Ligue 2 in France at the age of 19.
But when they were relegated to the third-tier of French football at the end of the 2011-12 season, he moved to Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
Mane shone in the Austrian Bundesliga, scoring 45 goals in 87 games to earn an £12million move to Southampton and the Premier League.
"I never went to a party on my own," Mane told Spanish paper El Pais last year.
"I never even think about it. If I don't give everything I have to be a good footballer, I'll never achieve anything."
And Mane is not a fan of PlayStation either - an extremely popular pastime for modern players.
"I never liked it," he added. "I've never played it.
“I think it's something that wastes your time. I don't want to lose mine in return for nothing."
Away from the game, Mane is involved in charity work.
He donated €200,000 to build an educational centre in Bambali in his native country last year.
