David Beckham has paid tribute to those who fought in the Second World War on the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
The former Manchester United legend paid tribute to his own granddad.
The footballer, model and businessman pressed pause on his usual social media output to share a series of snaps of VE Day celebrations, after the Second World War had been won in Europe on 8th May 1945.
He also posted a black and white photograph of his late granddad in his military uniform, and cradling a puppy in his arms.
The 45 year old wrote: "A day where we remember #VEDay75 miss you grandad."
David Robert Joseph Beckham is the current president & co-owner of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City.
He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies
