Lyon women's team have emerged winners of the women's Champions League for the seventh time after an empathic 3-1 win against Wolfsburg in the final on Sunday evening.

The French side dominated with their play much part of the game as they came into the game as favourites to lift the title.

Lyon Féminines took the lead after 25 minutes, Eugénie Le Sommer (Lyon Féminines) left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.

Just before half time, Lyon Féminines 2. Saki Kumagai (Lyon Féminines) left footed shot from outside the box to the bottom right corner made it two goals to nil.

Wolfsburg pulled a goal back after 57 minutes when Lyon Féminines 2. Alexandra Popp (VfL Wolfsburg Ladies) header from very close range to the centre of the goal from an assist by Ewa Pajor.

But Lyon ensured that there was no chance for a comeback as Sara Björk Gunnarsdottir (Lyon Féminines) left footed shot from the left side of the six yard box to the bottom left corner made it 3-1 in the 88th minutes. He was assisted by Eugénie Le Sommer following a corner.
