Manchester United Suffer Injury Blow as Hojlund and Yoro Forced Off in Pre-Season Friendly
Manchester United's pre-season preparations took a hit on July 28, 2024, when Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro were both forced off the field due to injuries during the friendly match against Arsenal in Los Angeles.
Rasmus Hojlund, the Danish striker, was withdrawn from the game after just 15 minutes of play, clutching his hamstring following a sprint. The severity of the injury is yet to be determined, but initial indications suggest a muscle strain.
Leny Yoro, meanwhile, required extended medical attention on the field before being substituted. He was seen limping off, visibly discomforted, casting a shadow over his immediate future.
Yoro is one Manchester United summer signing from Lille for fee in region of 63m pounds.
The full extent of both injuries will be assessed in the coming 24 hours, according to Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils will be holding their breath, hoping for positive news regarding the fitness of their players ahead of the upcoming season.
Ten Hag on Leny Yoro and Rasmus Højlund injured: “We have to wait over 24 hours and then we know hopefully more.We were careful especially with Leny, he did only 50% from the sessions…”
He added, “Let’s be positive and see what is the outcome"
The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Arsenal, with Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli scoring to seal the comeback.
Rasmus Hojlund gave Manchester United the lead before Jesus equalized and Martinelli finished in the closing stages of the game.
