Arsenal and Sevilla negotiates over French star transfer

Arsenal have opened talks with Sevilla over a move to take Steven N’Zonzi to the Emirates, and reunite him with manager Unai Emery. Steven N’Kemboanza Mike Nzonzi is a French professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Spanish club Sevilla and the French national team.

Former Blackburn and Stoke midfielder N’Zonzi starred for Emery during his time at Seville boss, winning the Europa League. According to Sky Sports, the Gunners have now opened talks with the Spanish side, in a bid to bring the 29-year-old to North London. Emery has already landed Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papasthathopoulos. But he is continuing to look to add to his midfield and French ace N’Zonzi could be ideal.

Nzonzi represented France at under-21 level. He turned down the chance to represent his ancestral DR Congo at senior international level, and was unsuccessful in his attempt to become eligible to play for England. In November 2017, he made his debut for the senior France squad, and he was chosen for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
