During a Wednesday interview with Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, Lopez opened up about her former relationship with him, explaining he recently reached out to her fiancé Alex Rodriguez to apologize for a comment he left on Lopez’s Instagram.
In case you forgot, Jennifer Lopez and Diddy were one of the hottest couples of the early 2000s. “We never lived together,” Lopez said. “We were boyfriend and girlfriend when we were little, I feel like that was such a long time ago, it was a different type of relationship.”
One of the show’s hosts then brought up the admiring comment Diddy left on her #10DayChallenge Instagram post in January. In response to the post, which saw Lopez displaying her abs in a sports bra and leggings, Diddy wrote: “OMG” with a heart emoji, but later reached out to Rodriguez to clarify that his comment was harmless.
“So you guys know, he wrote Alex after that,” Lopez revealed. “He was like, ‘I didn’t mean anything by it, I have nothing but respect for you guys, I’m so happy for you’.”
Shortly after, she shut down recent rumors that Rodriguez has cheated on her, moving on to describe why their simply click.
“I’ve never been with somebody who lets me be the full shining J.Lo and [show] all the sides of myself. That makes me really happy,” she said.
Last fall, Diddy stopped by one of Lopez’s final All I Have Las Vegas residency shows to support her, also greeting Rodriguez.
