Awards were also dished out at the event with Alisson Becker winning the Best goalkeeper, Virgil Van Dijk was given the Best defender award, the best midfielder was given to Frenkie de Jong, while the best forward was given to who else but Lionel Messi.
Virgil Van Dijk also won the UEFA player of the year award.
