There have reports linking the five times Ballon d'Or winner to reunion with his former manager, Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are also in the mix as he has been tipped also to rejoin former team-mate, Neymar at the Parc de Princes.
The fax reads: "By means of this letter, I, Lionel Andres Messi Cuccittini with white ID request that the employment benefit that I currently occupy in your distinguished club be terminated, based on clause number 24 that allows me to have this power."
