Carabao Cup Third Round: Fulham 2 vs 0 Sheffield Wednesday (Highlights) 2020-2021

Fulham cruised into the Fourth Round of the Carabao Cup with a routine win over Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday evening.
First half goals from Aboubakar Kamara and Bobby De Cordova-Reid had the Whites in firm control of the tie which now sets up a Fourth Round clash against rivals Brentford.

Scott Parker aimed to mirror the fortune of the side that had beaten the Owls merely two months earlier in the Championship, with just four changes for the Carabao Cup tie.

Fulham then took the lead in the simplest of circumstances. Michael Hector attacked a high clearance which Anthony Knockaert ran onto in the final third and squared to Kamara with an empty net. The goal settled the nerves and slick patterns of play began to emerge.

Moments later the lead was extended. Josh Onomah’s bullish strength gave him a yard to fire in a cross that De Cordova-Reid duly obliged to tap home on the stretch.
