Aston Villa fans were over the moon following the performance of their summer signing, Emiliano Martinez.

The Argentine international joined Dean Smith's side for a fee in the region of £20m from Arsenal.

Recall that Martinez was key for Arsenal FA Cup trophy triumph last season with stunning performances against Manchester City and Chelsea in semi final and final respectively.

On Monday evening, Martinez show off his class act against Sheffield United at Villa Park.

Aston Villa conceded a penalty in the 33 minutes into the game when Matt Targett fouled Chris Basham.

John Lundstram missed from the spot kick as Martinez dived to his right and pushed the ball away which saw the game remain at goalless.
Meanwhile, the moment switched to Villa who got a man advantage as the Blades were reduced to 10 men just 12 minutes into the match.

It was defender John Egan who was shown the red card by referee Graham Scott after tussling with Watkins. Egan attempted to latch on to a long ball forward from Tyrone Mings, the decision was ruled following a VAR check.

Dean Smith made the advantage count as Ezri Konsa headed past Aaron Ramsdale in 63rd minutes.
It came after Matt Targett’s corner was flicked on by Tyrone Mings, and it met the head of Ezri into the net of Chris Wilder's home side.
