Montepllier defeated Lyon 2-1 at the as both sides finished the game with ten men.

Téji Savanier (Montpellier) converted the penalty with a right footed shot to the centre of the goal to give the host the lead.

Lyon were reduced to ten men, Houssem Aouar (Lyon) was shown the red card following a review by the VAR.

In the second half, Téji Savanier (Montpellier) got his brace. It was a left footed shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner. He was assisted by Mihailo Ristic with a cross.

The home side got  Hilton (Montpellier) receive his sending off in the 81st minutes.

A minutes later, Memphis Depay (Lyon) converted the penalty with a right footed shot to the bottom left corner as Lyon pulled a goal back.
