Pep Guardiola side will be hoping to compete for the Premier League this season after they were unable to defend their title last season.

Liverpool cruise to the title with a 18 points gap at the end of the season. The Reds were crowned Champions of the league after Manchester City lost 2-0 against Chelsea last season.

Jurgen Klopp side were crowned Champions for the first time in 30 years.

Apparently, Kevin De Bruyne admits that Manchester City want to challenge the Reds for the title tgis season.

Manchester City defeated Wolvera 3-1 with goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus were on target for Citizens despite Raul Jiminez consolation.

“I think we played really well,” De Bruyne told Man City's official website. “With just two weeks training, it was always going to be hard.

“But we kept it tight and I think we did really well and we know you have to start well."

The Belgian admitted that Nuno Espirito Santo side gave them their first test as they defeated Pep Guardiola side home and away last season.

He said: “Wolves have been a bogey team for us, so to come here and do this performance is good. We were missing some players. We will go game by game; Thursday is another one.

“If the title pace is the same as the last few years it’ll be hard. We want to fight with Liverpool. That’s what sport is all about.”
