The goalkeeper reported for international duty with Belgium and underwent a routine COVID-19 test.
Courtois, if positive after a second test, will then have to quarantine for 14 days and miss the two UEFA Nations League matches with Belgium against Denmark and Iceland. The positive test will also delay Courtois return to the Spanish capital meaning Andriy Lunin could be thrust into the spotlight and start for Real Madrid at the beginning of their league campaign.

The next step for Courtois is to have a blood test to see if the virus is still preset in his body. If the blood tests comes back negative, then Courtois could potentially return to the group and continue his involvement with the Belgian team. Whether not he is in training in the next few hours will be decisive in regards to his involvement for Belgium and Real Madrid.
