Sevilla Unveils Ivan Rakitic After Leaving Barcelona

It appears that new Barcelona boss has began reshaping his team. Recall that last week Ronald Koeman was appointed as the new boss of Barcelona.


The 57 years old Dutch international comes in as a replacement for Quique Setién who was sacked days after their humiliating loss to Bayern Munich in the quarter final of the Champions League last season.

Reports from Sky Sporte suggest that Ronald Koeman has made it clear that some ageing senior players in the team might be sold.

The former Southampton and Everton he stated that he wants to build his team around the youths.

This has made Ivan Rakitic leave the club to rejoin his former club, Sevilla.

Today, he was unveiled at Sevilla as he posted the pictures on his social media wirh the joy of returning to the club which he once captained.

He captioned: "I think these colors suit me well… What do you think? Smiling face with sunglasses So good to be back! Hungrier than ever! @SevillaFC #VamosMiSevilla #WeAreSevilla #IvanRakitic.”

The Croatian international agreed to take pay cut to move to Europa League winners ahead of next season.

Just so you know, Rakitić started his football career at Basel and spent two seasons with before he was signed by Schalke 04.

The 32 years spent three seasons at Schalke before he was snapped up by Sevilla in January 2011.

After he captained Sevilla to glory in the Europa League in 2013, he joined Barcelona.

Rakitić won the treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League in his first season with Barcelona.

He has played over 300 games for the Spainsh giants.
