Following a goalless first half, Jan Vertonghen own goal gave the home side the lead.
PAOK got the second goal as Andrija Zivkovic (PAOK Salonika) left footed shot from the right side of the box to the bottom right corner made it 2-0. He was assisted by Dimitrios Giannoulis.
Although, a late consolation goal came in the 90th minutes, it was Rafa (Benfica) header from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner from a cross by André Almeida.
