Ronald Koeman started his campaign in the UEFA Champions League this season on a winning note. The Dutch international took over from Quique Setién who was sacked after humiliating exit from the Champions League in hands of Bayern Munich last season. Also, Barcelona finished the 2019-20 season without a trophy.

Meanwhile Ronald Koeman has only suffered one defeat in the league which came in the hands of Getafe over the weekend.

Last night, Barcelona recorded a 5-1 win over Ferencvaros at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night UEFA Champions League.

Lionel Messi who was unsettled at the club as he demanded a transfer request seems to be integrating himself into the Koeman's plan.

He net a penalty in the game, as well as inform in form Anstu Fati were on target.

While Pique was sent off in the second half against the Hungarian side but Catalan side went ahead to clinch three points in the match.

After the game, Barcelona have confirmed that Gerard Pique, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet have all signed contract extensions with the club.

It was gathered that Gerard Piqué out oen to paper on a contract extension through 2024. 

Goal reports that the 33-year-old's extension will be subject to playing a certain amount of games in the 2021-22 season. The new deal has seen him include a buy-out clause of €500 million (£457m/$591m).


Also, Barcelona number one, Ter Stegen previous deal was set to expire in 2022  but has now signed until 2025 and will also have a buy-out clause set at €500m. 

Recall that Ter Stegen joined in 2014 from Borussia Monchengladbach.

French defender, Lenglet has signed until 2026 and has a buy-out clause of €300 million (£274m/$355m). 

This comes after his impressive performances, since he joined from Sevilla in 2018.
He had made 89 appearances since he moved to Camp Nou.

De Jong has signed an extension through 2026 and has a buy-out clause of €400 million (£366m/$473m). The 23 years old completed his switch to Barcelona from Ajax in 2019.
