Bruno Fernandes guided Red Devils to finish in fourth place last season, and he was awarded the player of the season award .

He seems to have continued from where he ended last season. He was instrumental to Manchester United victory against Everton.

On Saturday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer faced Carlo Ancelotti side at the Goodison Park in the early kick off.

Although, Red Devils fell behind from a goal by Bernard but Bruno Fernandes stood up with a match winning performance as he scored twice to hand Manchester United 2-1 lead just before half time.

The third goal came from an assist from Fernandes as he laid the pass to Edinson Cavani from a counter attack for the Uruguayan international to score his firet goal since he joined the club.

After the game, Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has heaped praises on the Portuguese star.

“Bruno was excellent,” Maguire confirmed to the club’s official website. “He came under a little bit of stick on Wednesday night but he’s a big character and a big leader. He’s reacted brilliantly and does his talking on the pitch.

“I’m delighted he’s got a couple of goals or whatever you want to call it, a goal or an assist.”

The result meant Manchester United have moved up to 14th in the Premier League table.

Maguire added that Cavani will perform at Manchester United. If you recall that the Uruguayan arrived on a free transfer in October, having left PSG at the end of last season.

“He worked tirelessly up there and did the dirty work and he got his rewards right at the end. I think he's going to be a big player for us, he’s going to score goals,” he said. “He knows where the back of the net is and I’ve seen that in training a few times already. He’s just getting up to speed in terms of his training and work rate but he’s going to be a big player for us.”

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will see his team face  West Bromwich Alion after the international break.
