Rob Holding pens new contract with Arsenal until 2024

It looks like Arsenal are currently taking a step to secure the future of their young players in the squad. 
The Gunners currently boast some young talented players in the team and its been reported that one of them have hav committed his future with the club. 

Earlier today, Arsenal announced that Rob Holding have signed a contract extension with the club. 
According to report, the English defender has put pen to paper on a long-term contract. It's been gathered that the new deal is expected to run until 2024 with an option for a further year.
Rob Holding has been in good form for the Gunners this season, he has formed good partnership with Pablo Mari at the centre back position. 

Holding has made 16 appearances for the Gunners so far this campaign. 

This comes after he recovered from a serious knee injury he sustained at Old Trafford in 2019. He didn't play a game for Arsenal until 2020.


If you recall that Arsenal signed the defender from Bolton Wanderers in July 2016. 

Mikel Arteta has praised the defender progress at the club as well his contributions in games. 
 
Mikel Arteta said: “Since I started as manager, I have been hugely impressed with Rob’s contribution to the club and the dressing room, on and off the pitch. The quality of his work every day on the training pitches is excellent and he is translating this into consistently high performances in matches."

Rob Holding played a significant role in the Arsenal's FA Cup triumph last season, as they defeated Chelsea in the semi final and Manchester City in the final. 

He has won two FA Cup with the Arsenal and Mikel Arteta believes the English player will continue to progress at the club. 

Arteta added: "We all know Rob’s quality, which he has shown in his displays during the intense moments of those two FA Cup final victories. We are all very happy that Rob has signed a new contract, he is very popular with all the players and staff, and we’re looking forward to watching him continue to grow with us in the coming years.”

Technical director Edu said: “We are very happy to have signed Rob on a new contract extension. He is 25 years old, so is still coming into the peak of his career, and we are delighted that he’ll be with us during these important years. Rob has shown great quality and maturity on and off the pitch in recent months and is developing well. We are looking forward to Rob continuing his progression in the years to come.”
