"I love Kovacic" - Tuchel praises the former Real Madrid star after performance against Newcastle

Thomas Tuchel has continued on his run of wins following his 5th victory since he was appointed as manager of Chelsea.

The German came on board to replace Frank Lampard, and it appears that the former Paris Saint-Germain coach has got the Blues playing with a lot of confidence and believe.

On Monday, it was another comfortable 2-0 win against Newcastle at the Stamford Bridge. 

First half goals from Oliver Giroud and Timo Werner ensured that Chelsea move into the top four spot. 

After the game, Thomas Tuchel has singled out praise for one player in his team. The manager has hailed midfielder Mateo Kovacic, expressing how determined and "ever prepared" is Kovacic whether he's called upon to play.

Tuchel added that the Croatian is always ready to train any time of the day. 

"I love him," Tuchel told the 5th Stand. "You can wake him up at 3 a.m. and he will be ready to train at Cobham at 3:15."

During the game against Steve Bruce side, Kovacic enjoyed good possession of the ball in the middle of the field. 

It was gathered that Kovacic completed 95.6 percent pass attempts.
