Earlier in the week, reports emerged that Barcelona were looking at signing Sergio Aguero next season, following the era of their new president Joan Laporta.
Aguero is Manchester City top striker and he has become of the best center forwards in the Premier League.
The Argentine international joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011 for a fee of £35 million ($49m) and he has since helped City to three Premier League crowns, five League Cups and a FA Cup triumph.
But the forward hasn't been a regular this season due to his fitness. It's been gathered that Aguero has been struggling with a knee problem since last season which has made manager Pep Guardiola sort for alternative of playing a false number 9.
Manchester City are leading the race to win the Premier League this season as they lead with 14 points.
Although, Aguero has since less playing time this season due to fitness problem and doesn't look like Manchester City will offer him a new deal come the end of the season.
Aguero has played a total of 382 appearances across all competitions and reports suggests that his 10 years spell at Manchester City could end this season.
A move to Barcelona could be an option for the 33 years old, given that the Catalan side don't have good replacement for Luis Suarez whom they sold to Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2020.
Aguero said: “They are all writing Barca, Barca, Barca.
“Let's hold on a little, have a look. Stop. We are still with City.”
The former Atletico star has played 12 games with only two goals scored this season.
