The 33-year-old goalkeeper collided with one of his teammates, Wolves skipper Conor Coady, when he rushed out of his goal in a brave attempt to thwart a Liverpool attack.

He was attended to by the medics but needed to be taken off on the stretcher for further assessment on the state of being.

After the game, the manager Nuno Espirito Santo revealed that his goalkeeper Rui Patricio is fully conscious and 'okay' after suffering a sickening blow to the head.
He told Sky Sports: "We just have an update now, he's okay. He's conscious, he remembers what happened, he's aware. He's okay.

"[It was] a collision with Coady, I think, the knee of Coady on the head. But he's okay. We speak already, he's okay.

"All these situations, when it's a concussion on the head, gets us worried. But he's okay, he's going to recover, everything's okay."
