Mikel Arteta has finally been responded on the absence of his captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The striker has missed the past two weeks after he was reported to have missed training prior to the Sheffield United game last week because he was unwell.

Aubameyang also didn't travel with the team to Czech to play Slavia Praha in the second leg quarter final game in Europa League.

Although, the Gunners were comfortable with a 4-0 result at the end of 90 minutes to seal their semi final game against Villarreal.

Arteta has confirmed that the former Dortmund forward was admitted at the hospital because he had malaria.
Arteta said: 'We just spoke with him. He's at home, he's fine. He had two days in hospital to get the right treatment, but he's feeling good now. Everybody has been in contact with him. He's been really supportive with every team-mate through messages and calls.'

The manager also revealed that the players who are currently injured watched the game against Slavia from homes.

Arteta added: He (Aubameyang) was watching the game like everybody else at Colney. David [Luiz], Martin [Ødegaard], Kieran [Tierney]. Everybody who has not been able to be involved. It is what it is, these things happen. He travelled to his country and he picked it up and you know that these risks always exist.'

Arsenal are without David Luiz who is recovering after he had a minor operation, Kieran Tierney is expected to be out for 4-6 weeks and Martin Odegaard has been feeling discomfort in his ankle.

Mikel Arteta went ahead to reveal that Aubameyang is being taking care of his at the hospital and he's currently feeling good.

"When he wasn't involved against Sheffield United, two days before he wasn't feeling good, but nobody could expect that was the case. They did some more tests and that's when it came up and straight away the doctor realised very quickly what had to be done and they did a great job. He's safe and he's feeling good."
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang shared photo of himself on the hospital bed days ago following questions of his absence from fans.
But his manager is yet to state the return date for his captain as he added that he expect him to return soon

According to Arteta: "We'll see how he recovers. I think he will need a few days to recover from that. He wants to back as soon as possible, that's what he said to me. But I don't know. If the treatment is efficient it shouldn't take too long."

Arsenal will face Fulham on Sunday afternoon, this means Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be unavailable for the game.
