Nigerian youngster, Shola Shoretire scoops Man Utd Young Player of the year award for 2020-2021

Manchester United have announced the winner for the young player of the year. The Red Devils boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given several youth players opportunities at Old Trafford stadium and the player with the best performance in the season has been rewarded. 

During the 2020-21 season, youngsters such as Shola Shoretire, Amad Diallo, Hannibal, Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams featured in several games for Manchester United.

According to reports, Nigerian youngster Shola Shoretire has been voted the winner of the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year for 2020/21 season. 

The youngster is one of the most sort after talent in the Manchester United U18 after he finished the season as the club's top scorer in the Premier League 2.

Shola scored a total of 10 goals for Manchester United in the Premier League 2 this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side handed the Academy product his Premier League debut against Newcastle United at Old Trafford in February. He also played in the Europa League clash with Real Sociedad early in the season.

The youngster becomes the latest to win the award after likes of Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood were previous winners.

Manchester United will face Wolverhampton on Sunday in the final game of the season.
