England finished second in the European Championship after they lost to Italy in the final. The Azzurri defeated the Three Lions of England after they came from behind to beat Gareth Southgate side in front of their home fans at Wembley stadium.

England took an early lead after two minutes after Luke Shaw volleyed a cross from Trippier. The Three Lions looked comfortable in the first half but lost momentum in the second half. Leonardo Bonucci scored the equaliser after 66 minutes.

Italy goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma was named the player of the tournament after he saved three penalties during the game.

Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were the three players that missed their spot kicks. While Belotti and Jorginho penalties were saved by England goalkeeper Pickford.

After the game, Marcus Rashford had faced a lot of backlash from fans because he missed his penalty.

But a nine years old fan whose name is Dexter has appreciated the England forward.

Dexter wrote an open letter to the Manchester United star. He revealed that Rashford inspired him last year after he helped the vulnerable and less privilege during coronavirus.

The fan added that Marcus Rashford has taught him to be brave after his penalty miss last night.

Popular English journalist Piers Morgan shared the letter on his social media space.

Pier Morgan captioned: 'Hey Marcus - I think this young man speaks for the vast majority of people in this country,' above a picture of the letter shared by the youngster's mother online.'

The boy, Dexter, wrote: 'Dear Marcus Rashford, I hope you won't be sad for too long because you are such a good person.

'Last year you inspired me to help people less fortunate. Then last night, you inspired me again to always be brave.

'I'm proud of you, you will always be a hero. From Dexter Rosier. Aged nine.'
