England national team lost in front of their fans in the final of the UEFA European Championship. The Three Lions of England lost 3-2 following penalty shoot out.

Gareth Southgate side broke the deadlock after two minutes following a counter attack. It was a superb left foot volley from Luke Shaw who connected to Trippier cross. 

England looked comfortable all through the first half but the momentum changed after the Azzurri equalised. Leonardo Bonucci headed the ball into the net from close range in the 66th minutes to level the score.

The game was stretched to penalty and Italy's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was the hero of the day. He saved three spot kicks for the Azzurri to claim their 6th European championship.

England's goalkeeper, Pickford made two big saves after Belloti and Jorginho missed their penalties. But Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka who all came into the game in extra time missed their spot kicks. 
Arsenal football club have expressed their support for their youngster Bukayo Saka who missed his penalty in the final. 
The 19 years has been one of the shinning stars for England in the competition. The club posted image of coach Gareth Southgate consoling Saka after the game with the caption, "Football can be so cruel.
But for your personality. For your character. For your bravery. We’ll always be proud of you. And we can’t wait to have you back with us, @BukayoSaka87."

Meanwhile Manchester United football club have also released a statement to show their support for their players, the tweet reads:" We said whatever happened, we'd be proud. One game doesn't change that. To @HarryMaguire93, @LukeShaw23 and @MarcusRashford: keep your heads held high."
