Nigeria secured three points against Cape Verde on Tuesday evening away from home in their 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Recall that Gernot Rohr men defeated Liberia 2-0 last week at the Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos, Nigeria. Two goals from Kelechi Iheanacho eas enough for the three points.

Super Eagles of Nigeria conceded the first goal after Tavares opened the scoring for the home side on the 19th minute. But Victor Osimhen equalised for Nigeria ten minutes later after a defensive slip-up.

In the 76th minute, Nigeria made it 2-1 when Kenny Santos struck a back pass into his own net with goalkeeper Vozinha left stranded.

The victory moves Nigeria top of the Group C while they prepare for their home game against the Central African Republic on October 9th while Cape Verde travel to Liberia.
Meanwhile Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa reached 100 Caps in the game against Cape Verde. The former Leicester City forward captained the team. He received massive support from the crowd when he was withdrawn late in the second half. Musa was replaced by Henry Onyekuru.
Musa became the fastest Nigerian to reached 100 Caps for the National team, scoring 15 times. Musa made his debut international call up on August 5th 2010,  11 Years ago.

Recall that the forward recently completed his move to join Turkish side Fatih Karagümrük this transfer window.
