Super Eagles of Nigeria have suffered a shock loss at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos against Central Africa Republic on Thursday evening.

Nigeria hosted Central Africa in the first leg of their 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. Although several senior players from Nigeria such as Alex Iwobi, Etebo and Wilfred Ndidi were unavailable due to injuries.

Gernot Rohr also decided to hand Akpeyi as starting shirt as goalkeeper ahead of regular number one Maduka Okoye who arrived Camp late.

Meamwhile, Karl Namganda produced the winning goal for the away side after 90 minutes of the game.

Afta three matches, Nigeria still dey top of the group with six points while Cape Verde are second with four points.

Although Central African Republic have the same four points but they have scored fewer goals than Cape Verde.
