Gremio won their first Copa Libertadores title for 22 years.
This was following their comfortable 3-1 aggregate win over Lanus on Wednesday.
Going into the game with a 1-0 first-leg advantage, the Brazilian club won with first-half strikes from Fernandinho and Luan in Argentina.
Lanus, who were featuring in their maiden final, had a mountain to climb.
However, there was only a lone consolation from veteran striker Jose Sand, who netted from the penalty spot with 19 minutes remaining.
The Porto Alegre club’s third continental title books their maiden appearance at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017.
