Saint-Etienne coach Christophe Galtier has been named LOSC's manager.

He will succeed Marcelo Bielsa, who was relieved of his duties in late November.

He was a free agent since leaving the top job at Saint-Etienne at the end of last season.

The former player with Les Dogues - Christophe Galtier,  51, signed an 18-month contract.

He said: "I'm very happy to join LOSC," he declared. "Even though I'm aware of the task that awaits us, I was quickly convinced by what Luis Campos had to say about the viability and the seriousness of the project that Gérard Lopez and his team have put together. I had a range of offers after my departure from Saint-Etienne but I held out for a project in which I could commit to some important objectives like the ones we have here at LOSC."

The club announced on their official website that Galtier will take the reins of the senior team - which was largely overhauled according to Bielsa's specifications over the summer - as of the resumption of training on December 29.
