Three first half goals from Mohammed Salah, a screamer from Oxlade Chamberlain and Saido Mane header gave Jurgen Klopp side victory.
Pep Guardiola's side were punished by the Egyptian, Salah who got two assists.
At Camp Nou, Barcelona put one leg in the semi final after a 4-1 win over Roma. Two goals from Manolas and De Rossi saw the Italian side went two goals behind.
Gerard Pique tapped home three third for Ernesto Valverde side. But Edin Dzeko pulled a consolation.
