Pep Guardiola has acted swiftly after the Chilean stopper was ruled out for six months with a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Manchester City have immediately recalled goalkeeper Aro Muric from his loan spell at NAC Breda, the Dutch club have announced.
The move comes after second choice stopper Claudio Bravo sustained a ruptured Achilles tendon in training on Monday, leaving City boss Pep Guardiola without an experienced backup for No.1 Ederson.
Montenegro under-21 international Muric, 19, kept a clean sheet on his NAC debut in a 3-0 Eredivisie win over De Graafschap on Saturday, but will now likely be seen on the bench for City's visit to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.
"Due to the injury of the second goalkeeper, Manchester City came into a situation that we had not anticipated beforehand," NAC Breda technical director Hans Smulders told the club's official website .
"Despite looking at other solutions, we eventually had to decide to return Aro to Manchester. Having a partnership also means that you try to help each other in these situations."
