Thomas Muller will miss both games against Liverpool after losing an appeal against his suspension, Reportminds.com can confirm.
As reported by Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Muller will be sidelined for both legs after his appeal was rejected.
The German was set to miss them after seeing red against Ajax for a high challenge on defender Nicolas Tagliafico.
However, Bayern confirmed their intention to appeal on the grounds that the foul was unintentional, but UEFA clearly do not see it that way.
With the Bundesliga side enduring one of their worst campaigns for many years, having Muller available would have been a huge boost for the Bavarian side.
Liverpool are also not without their selection issues. Virgil van Dijk was booked against Napoli in the last group game, meaning he will sit out of the first leg.
Joe Gomez will also be ruled out through injury, with the defender now requiring surgery on a fractured leg.
