Former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas was left in tears on the bench as his two goals gave Celta Vigo a chance of avoiding relegation.
The forward, who is a Celta Vigo fan and has just come back from a two-month injury lay-off, was left crying tears of joy and relief on the bench at the end of the game after being taken off to a standing ovation from home supporters.
His team were trailing by two goals against Villarreal in a relegation six-pointer after conceding goals from Karl Ekambi and Alfonso Pedraza.

But Aspas scored a free-kick on 50 minutes to give the home side some hope. And when Maxi Gomez headed in the equaliser 10 minutes later Aspas got the winner from the spot with four minutes left.
Celta Vigo remain in the bottom three but are now just one point behind Villarreal in the first safety position.
Aspas first ever game for Celta Vigo saw him score to save them from relegation to the third tier of Spanish football. He also served the club as a ball-boy before becoming the club's best-loved player.
Vigo now have nine games to save themselves.
Aspas said: 'We have salvation in our grasp.'
There is already talk of a statue in his honour if — now back fit again — he can keep them up.
He added: 'We will talk about monuments or otherwise at the end of the season when we are safe.'
