Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have reportedly turned their eyes towards Spanish giants Real Madrid in the hope of getting an inflated price in their efforts to sell Bruno Fernandes in this summer's transfer window after Premier League sides ended their interest in the player.
Sporting is said to be expecting €70m for their prized asset and have employed Jorge Mendes to mediate negotiations.
After frustrating talks with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur did not come to a conclusion before the close of the English transfer window, Sporting’s board have asked Mendes to get offers that satisfy their demands.
AS report that one of the clubs that was contacted by Mendes was Real Madrid, who have been informed by Sporting that the €70m price-tag is non-negotiable.
24-year-old Fernandes scored 32 goals in 53 games last season to become the midfielder with the most goals in any of the major European leagues and hence was expected to be in demand this summer.
