Valverde became the first Barcelona coach to be sacked mid-season since Van Gaal's ouster in 2003. Barcelona has quickly replaced the manager with Quique Setién.

4. He has good relationships with some Barca players: On one of his visits to the Camp Nou, Sergio Busquets gave him a signed shirt. Busquets praised his way of looking at football.
