Arsenal confirmed the signing of Pablo Mari from Flamengo which is their first signing under Mikel Arteta.

The Spanish defender joins the Gunners on-loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. The 26-year-old had once played for a Premier League team which was Manchester City but he failed to make his mark during his time with the club.

He was part of Flamengo's success story last season when they won the league title and the Copa Libertadores.
