Arteta Gives Good News On Tierney's Recovery Ahead of Portsmouth Test

Arsenal manager has revealed Kieran Tierney is closed to a return.

According to the manager, the Scot is not expected to play against Portsmouth in the FA CUP.

The Gunners welcome the third division club to the Emirates on Monday night in the fifth round of the English FA CUP.

 “He is much closer. He is evolving really well. He feels fit. He feels confident now. He's doing the stuff with contact, so hopefully we can have him soon.” -Mikel Arteta said.

Tierney suffered a shoulder fracture last year in the away clash against West Ham.

Recall that Tierney joined Arsenal in the summer window of 2019 from Celtic for £25m.

He was signed by former manager, Unai Emery for replacement for ageing left back Nacho Monreal, who left the club.
