Edgar Davids is a former Dutch-Surinamese professional footballer. He was born on the 13th of March, 1973. In a place called Paramaribo, Suriname. He was a defensive midfielder and has played in top teams as; Ajax, Milan, Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Tottenham Hotspur. Having played in big clubs, there's no doubt that he was one of the best players of his time. Being named in Pelé's top 100 greatest living footballers of all time. He helped his team win the UEFA Champions League in 1995. He was known for his hard tackles, his aggression and marking ability. And due to this array of qualities he possessed, he was given the nickname "The Pitbull".

He started his career in Ajax, a top club in the Eredivisie. It was there he was given the nickname "The Pitbull". His next move was to AC Milan, but he did not meet up with expected performances. He was later sold to Serie A giants, Juventus. After Juve, he was loaned to Barcelona then to Inter Milan and then to Tottenham Hotspur. He even played for Crystal Palace.

Although he was a great player, he did something bizarre and never seen before. He wore glasses to the pitch whenever he had a match. This started in 1999, when he had an eye surgery and had to put football on hold. Davids suffered from Glaucoma (a disease which causes an increase in eye pressure and affects the optic nerve).  This ultimately affects a persons vision. He survived the surgery, and his vision was stabilised but his eyes remained weak. For him to continue playing football, he was told by his doctors to start wearing glasses.

Apart from his amazing career, he made an impression on football. Turning something others would consider as an handicap into an iconic fashion style. He did not quit because of his eyes but still continue to strive on. He still continues to wear his glasses and is considered to be one of the stylish players in the history of football.
