Manchester United star Marcus Rashford congratulated Leeds for earning promotion to the Premier League but quickly deleted the tweet.

Leeds secured promotion on Friday as West Brom were beaten by Huddersfield.

Leeds United return to the Premier League for the first time since 16 years.

Rashford wrote on Twitter: 'As a United fan I'm happy to see Leeds United back in the Premier League where they belong. Congrats @LUFC.'

However, the 22-year-old quickly deleted the tweet after some fans criticised him.

The two sides haven't faced each other often in recent years, with their last competitive meeting coming in the League Cup in 2011.
