Manchester United Star made his first appearance for the first time since 17 months.
Phil Jones has been on the sidelines since last years. The England international was involved in Manchester United's behind-closed doors friendly against Burnley at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils defeated Burnley 3-1 in a friendly game earlier today. Jones played 30 minutes after he came off the bench in the game.
Recall that Jones has been out of action since featured in Manchester United's FA Cup tie against Tranmere in January 2020.
According to Daily Mail Online, Jones is keen to rebuild his United career. The former Blackburn Rovers star has two years left on his £130,000-a-week contract at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Ole Solskjaer plans to use Jones as one of five centre-backs following the signing of Raphael Varane this summer.
Recall that Manchester United unveiled Rafael Varane at Old Trafford before their opening game against Leeds United. The French defender joined Red Devils for £41m from Real Madrid. He has been handed jersey number 19.
Manchester United will travel to St Mary's stadium to face Southampton this weekend. Jones is expected to make the squad for the game.
