Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side were down to four goals in the fire half after Naby Keita opened scoring before Diogo Jota doubled the lead eight minutes later.
Mohamed Salah scored twice just before the break and completed his hat-trick in the second half.
Solskjaer men were unable to register a shot on target in the second half, it was Mason Greenwood who came close with a shot which Alisson Becker tipped it for a corner.
After the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addressed his future. The Manchester United boss has been under serious pressure following their recent poor run in the Premier League.
Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the defeat, “I have come too far, we have come too far as a group and we are too close to give up now”
Manchester United finished the game with ten men after Paul Pogba was sent off 15 minutes which he came on a substitute. A two foot tackle on Naby Keita who was stretched off resulted in a VAR check.
