The Reds Devils suffered the humiliating defeat in the hands of Jurgen Klopp side after Mohamed Salah netted hat-trick.
After the game, Ronaldo took to social media to address the Manchester United fans.
"Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for," a post on Instagram started.
"Sometimes the score is not the one we want. And this is on us, only on us, because there's no one else to blame."
Ronaldo also scored in the game but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR check.
He added: "Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. They deserve better than this, much better, and it's up to us to deliver. The time is now!"
Ronaldo could have been sent off against Liverpool for an incident just before half time when he lashed out as Curtis Jones lay on the ground.
The forward at least connected with the ball, which lay next to Jones' stomach, or else he could have received a straight red card instead of the yellow he did collect.
