(Photos) Xavi Hernandez meets Barcelona players and takes charge of his first training session

Barcelona have confirmed the appointment of Xavi Hernandez as their new head coach. The former Blaugrana legend left his role as manager of Qatar based club AL Sadd.

It was reported that Barcelona agreed to pay the Qatar based football club in order to allow Xavi who still under contract with them join the Spanish club.

Xavi has replaced Ronald Koeman who was sacked after he lost 1-0 against Real Vallecano two weeks ago.

Earlier today, Barcelona president Joan Laporta and some top officials introduced Xavi Hernandez to the rest of the first team.

Xavi was spotted in the dressing room greeting the players who looked delighted to meet the club's legend.

Meanwhile, Xavi took charge of the first training session with some players who weren't called up for the November's international break.
