Athletic Bilbao faced Real Madrid for the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Luka Modric opened the scoring before Karim Benzema struck from the spot to seal the first trophy for Carlo Ancelotti since he returned to the club this summer.
Real Madrid have been crowned the Spanish Cup champions after an eight year absence from the final, holding off Athletic Bilbao in Saudi Arabia.
It was Luka Modric who broke the deadlock after he curled his shot in the 38th minutes after Marco Asensio cut back pass.
The Los Blancos made sure they doubled the lead when Karim Benzema scored from the penalty spot.
Real Madrid were later reduced to ten men when Eder Militao was shown a late red-card. Militao blocked Garcia’s goal-bound header and was sent off conceding a penalty.
But Garcia was less effective from the spot as goalkeeper Courtois kept his kick out with his foot.
