Popular Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo has sparked a lot of reactions on her social media space when she said she would not mind being next monarch of Oyo Empire.
If you recall that Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, died on Friday at the Afe Babalola University, Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, after a brief illness.
Just so you know, Oba Adeyemi, 83, reigned for 52 years, making him the long-serving Alaafin.
Meanwhile, Kemi Olunloyo said she the late monarch would be glad if she succeeded him on the throne. She added that it's time for a gender change in the Oyo Empire throne.
Sharing several photos of herself dressed like a queen, She tweeted: "I should be the NEXT #alaafinofoyo. #IkuBabaYeye will be proud. I bet U didn’t know we are the only Yoruba Monarch with a female King 👸🏽Orompotoniyun was the 1ST FEMALE ALAAFIN. Time for a new one👑👍🏾I will serve the Oyo empire well. Retweet till the oracle sees this. "
