"Antonio Conte made a fool of me during my time at Chelsea" - Michy Batshuayi

Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has taken a swipe at his former coach Antonio Conte.

The Belgian striker claims that Conte contradicts himself and he made a "fool of him" during his two years spell with the Italian manager.

Batshuayi was one of Conte's first signings when he arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2016.

The striker joined the Blues for fee in region of £33m, where he played from 2016 - 2018 under Conte.

'Conte was constantly contradicting himself,' Batshuayi told SPORT.

'To start with my arrival. He called me and explained his project. He wanted me to play in a two-man frontline alongside Diego Costa.'

Batshuayi fell down in the pecking order, with Diego Costa and Alvaro Morata ahead of him.

He stated that Conte made him believe he was going to be a major part of his plans when he signed, but feels the manager was not completely honest with him.

He added: 'Did I believe that? Of course, because Conte has played with two attackers all his career. Except at Chelsea with me. I do not understand. The truth is that I have been fooled far too often.'
