The 22-year-old English international has been struggling with the groin problem this term.
Smith finished last season with 10 goals in all competitions for Arsenal with the prospect of a better campaign ahead.
But the Arsenal's academy graduate has been disturbed with the discomfort in his groin this season.
Reportminds Blog understands that Emile Smith-Rowe suffered a relapse of the injury against Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 4.
The north London released a statement on Thursday 29th of September 2022 to state that he had underwent surgery to repair a damaged tendon in his groin.
"This successful surgery took place in London in the past few days and Emile’s rehabilitation programme is already underway. We are hopeful that Emile will return to full training in December," the statement reads.

Emile Smith-Rowe has started his rehabilitation programme as he will miss the next few weeks, starting from weekend London derby.
Arsenal will face Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates stadium on Saturday afternoon, at 12:30pm GMT.
"Everyone at the club will now be supporting and working hard with Emile to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible," the statement added.
