Ex Chelsea footballer, Ross Barkley has joined Ligue 1 club, Nice on free transfer

English footballer Ross Barkley has completed his move to Ligue 1 side, OGC Nice this summer.

The 28-year old left Chelsea as a free agent just before the close of the transfer window for the 2022-23 season. 

Ross who became a free agent after leaving Chelsea was said to have received around £7m from the club as settlement fee.

The Everton academy has put pen to paper for Ligue 1 club on a free transfer. He was unveiled to the fans ahead of their league game against Monaco.

Barkley who has been given the No 11 shirt at Nice was seen waving at the fans at the stadium on Sunday night prior to their game against Monaco.

If you recall that the 28-year-old sparked into life as youngster at Everton where he made 179 appearances, scoring 27 goals.

Barkley moved to Chelsea in 2018 but he struggled to hold down a regular starting berth for the Blues. 

While leaving the Stamford Bridge, he scored a total of 12 times in 100 games for Chelsea.
