Chelsea star, Reece James has remained hopeful of playing at the 2022 World Cup as he continues to recover from injury. 

The 22-year-old has been rehabilitating after he sustained a knee injury which had ruled him out for the rest of the year. 

Although, the Chelsea academy graduate is refusing to give up on his World Cup dream with The Three Lions of England. 


James is sidelined with a knee injury and still in a brace and on crutches. The Chelsea and England defender picked up a knee injury in the game against AC Milan on October 11 2022. 

According to reports gathered, Reece James will he put for the next eight weeks with the World Cup coming up on November 20th.

While speaking to The Sun in an interview, the right back said he doesn't want to rush is come back 

Reece James said: "I am trying to be positive. I am not not sure how long this injury will take. I am not in pain. But if I try to speed it up, it might be bit of a risk. 

Meanwhile, coach Gareth Southgate is set to name his 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar in coming weeks. 

But James says he is improving day by day from the injury. 

He added: "I am trying every day to improve and make it right and get fit as soon as possible".
