"You should have chose England" - Fans mock Jamal Musiala after Germany shock defeat to Japan

England fans have took to social media in reaction to Jamal Musiala's decision to choose Germany over England.

Germany national team suffered 2-1 defeat in their opening group game in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Hansi Flick men who were favorites to win against Japanese side but the Asian opponent shocked Germany.

Second-half goals from Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano handed Japan the come-from behind victory after Ilkay Gundogan fired Germany in front from the penalty spot. 

Who is Jamal Musiala? 

Jamal Musiala was born in Germany but moved to Southampton with his family aged seven and represented the Three Lions at youth level all the way up to the under-21s.

He played alongside Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham for England and the pair have remained friends despite being rivals for the Bundesliga title. 

But a move to Bayern in 2019 led to the star having to make a decision on his international future with Germany the beneficiaries of his preference.
